Animal Adventure . . .
Some people dream of becoming rich, others of becoming famous. For Jordan Patch his dream was to open an animal haven that would promote animal education and appreciation. And in 2013 his dreams became a reality when Animal Adventure opened its doors.
You may know of Animal Adventure because of the international attention it gained in 2017 when the park’s LIVE Giraffe Cam captivated viewers around the world as April the Giraffe gave birth to her calf, Tajiri. For those of you who have not had the chance to visit this premier educational animal park in Harpursville let me fill you in. At Animal Adventure you not only can watch the animals but you can touch and feed them as well in this very interactive environment. Home to 225 animals and 100 different species this park is federally licensed by the USDA, which ensures the same standards of care are met at zoos and aquariums in the United States.
The park is home to zoologists, animal behaviorists, biologists, educators and general caretakers staff to ensure all these animals at the 20-acre facility are happy and well taken care of while guests in their environment. And the park takes care of their human guests as well with wheelchair and wagon rentals, ATMs, clean restrooms, refreshments, and various rides and attractions.
Many of Animal Adventure’s animal ambassadors are from rescue situations & surrenders! Animal Adventure is also part of the Species Survival Plan! The focus of the SSP is to maintain a healthy and self-sustaining captive population that is both genetically diverse and demographically stable.
